Fall Protection Rescue Plan

Fall Protection Rescue Plan

I bowered this from the Department of Navy and then highlighted the sections that Bay Block does.

The Fall Rescue Plan should encompass the following critical information as an integral part of a comprehensive Fall Protection and Prevention Plan:

  1. Provide meticulous details regarding the precise location of the work site, including any pertinent information that will facilitate easy identification such as building number and floor level. Additionally, ensure that clear, written directions are readily available to be conveyed over the telephone to emergency responders, enabling them to swiftly navigate from the facility's main gate to the site. (Bay Block does this) Furthermore, it is imperative to furnish the rescue responder with comprehensive and accurate information to expedite the transportation of individuals with minor injuries to the nearest hospital. This information should be highlighted using a vibrant yellow marker to ensure its visibility.
  2. Clearly indicate the location of the designated equipment to be utilized in case of an emergency, such as lifts, and ensure that the location of the key is also clearly identified. This will ensure that emergency responders can promptly access the necessary equipment to facilitate a swift and efficient rescue operation.
  3. Provide detailed information regarding the exact location of the nearest first aid kit. To minimize any potential time delays in locating first aid kits during an emergency, it is crucial to prominently display a site map indicating the precise locations of these kits. This strategic measure will enable individuals to quickly identify and access the necessary medical supplies.
  4. Compile a comprehensive list of emergency telephone numbers that should be contacted in the event of a rescue operation. It is of paramount importance to follow a specific sequence when contacting these numbers, prioritizing the order in which they are listed.(Bay Block does this) Similarly, supply written instructions that can be easily relayed over the phone to emergency personnel, ensuring they can swiftly navigate from the facility's main gate to the site. By providing accurate and detailed information to the rescue responder, we can expedite the initiation of rescue operations.
  5. Arrange for an escort to meet the fire department upon their arrival at the scene and provide them with invaluable assistance in locating the precise accident location. This proactive measure will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the rescue operation.
  6. Designate an individual responsible for making the phone call in case of an emergency, ensuring their name is communicated. (Bay Block does this) Additionally, establish a backup person in the event the designated individual becomes incapacitated. This redundancy guarantees that there will be no delays in the activation of emergency protocols.
  7. Clearly identify the names of personnel who work at heights and may require rescue during their job duties. (Bay Block does this) This proactive measure ensures that any potential rescue operations are executed with precision and expediency.
  8. Specify the type of self-rescue equipment available on-site or to be utilized during rescue operations. This crucial information will bolster our preparedness and ensure that the necessary equipment is readily accessible to safeguard the well-being of our personnel.
  9. Implement a reliable buddy system for individuals working at heights who may require rescue. Alternatively, establish a visual or auditory contact protocol with individuals exposed to fall hazards every 15 minutes. Stability of our personnel, we can mini (Bay Block does away with this) By prioritizing the safety and t risks and facilitate rapid response in the event of an emergency
